That's nothing for blue chip prospects. Ryan Garcia and michael Conlan all signed to golden boy and top rank at the exact same time Balderas signed. It's not even close those two guys have fought more, been exposed more and just have a bigger buzz. Garcia has fought 7 times already in the last 12 months. Conlan has fought 5 times and will fight his 6th time in 12 months in march.

If you that young and a blue chip prospect you should be fight 6-7 times a year unless you are injured or cut.

Yea I agree. 6+ times should be easy for any prospect being moved as prospects are typically moved & is with a serious promoter with a 12+ event schedule every year & some sorta TV deal/connection.

I was complaining a couple days ago cuz Skakur Stevenson only gots his 5th fight scheduled in almost a year cuz I feel as a medalist he should be fighting even a lil more often, 8(?) times a year maybe.

The reality is doe it seems like EVERYONE is on average fighting less often. Big name guys used to fight 3-4 times a year, now its 2-3 times a year.

Times they are a changing. Don't think its really blameable on one thing. Safety, commissions, tv dates & promoters all have a major hand in it & in some specific cases you can find the problem in the fighter himself not wanting to fight for one reason or another.

3 fights is even less excusable looking at Balderas record all 3 fights ended in the first round. He's fought exactly 5m and 8secs. So I think he can handle more then 3 fights lol

Unless there is an injury I don't know about hard to believe if he didn't sign with the other big boys he wouldn't of fought more. Ringstar launched in 2016 and according to boxrec has only promoted 7 cards since then. That's got to be a factor. Where as golden boy and top rank already have the infrastructure, venues, networks to handle about 50 cards during that same time span. My guess is Schaefer can't get him the dates that's why he is fighting less then other blue chips who signed to golden boy and top rank.
