    I wonder what the current record for the longest layoff for a heavyweight title challenger curently is.

    I assume Oquendo's 4 years are going to smash that record.

        You should be happy to be honest. Now they are finally getting this one out of the way they will no longer owe anyone a title shot and thus the next step would be for the WBA 'regular' and WBA super to face eachother to be rid of a belt.

          They should just agree to put it as another fight on the Joshua Parker undercard

            The "belt" willl not go away. They will just have 2 more fringe contenders fight for it again.

            WBA = WORLD'S BIGGEST *******S!!

              The last time Oquendo fought was the week before Canelo vs Lara.

              That's some time.

                  "The 44-year-old Oquendo (37-8, 24 KOs) is ranked No. 2 by the WBA, even though the Chicago native hasn’t fought since he lost a 12-round majority decision to Uzbekistan’s Ruslan Chagaev (34-3-1, 21 KOs) in their July 2014 title fight in Grozny, Russia."
                  A Court of Law I believe ordered that he get a WBA title shot again, interesting story

                  It's unfortunate because it's taken 4 years it would of been 3 if Shannon Briggs hadn't tested positive last year.

                  As much as I hate this "regular champ" belt, this is Fres Oquendo's chance, he wins this then the big money Joshua fight is a possibility.

                  Don't hate on this man's dream, go Fres!

                  Although I do like Charr as well so i'm good either way

                    Is this BS going to actually happen this time?! Oquendo hasn't fought in 4 f***ing years! What the f*** is going on with the WBA just get on with it! Charr will stop Oquendo in 4 rounds easy!

                      Old Man -vs- Artificial-Hips Man

                      Interesting fight. Fres would definitely beat a healthy Charr 7yr ago.
