    Promoters paying off the judges/referees

How does these transactions take place?

Do they have somebody deliver a white envelope full of cash or how do they go about it?

How did Oscar go about it for GG-canelo?

I think that the GGG-Canelo decision was a function of incompetence and cluelessness with perhaps a bit of senility.

But I expect when payoffs happen it's as simple as someone handing a judge cash or a promotional outfit promising off the books to get judges work on big fights.

Interesting.. what do you think happened in Oscar-Floyd. Why couldnt Oscar rob floyd?

Maybe the judge wasnt happy about the money?

I have no idea why De la Hoya didn't get the decision against Floyd. At the time Floyd hadn't yet rolled out the loudmouth villain character that made him so profitable by tempting people to pay to watch him lose. Though Mayweather definitely clearly beat Oscar, I was assuming the judges would float Oscar a hometown decision to set up big purse rematches. Can't explain how the right decision was scored.

Ask the judges from Castillo vs Mayweather or Mayweather vs Madaina 1

Wouldn't it make more sense for the betting agencies / bookies to pay off judges? If the Canelo vs Mayweather fight had hundreds of millions of dollars on Mayweather winning by UD, then all they had to do was pay that ho 10 million to save a hundred million or more.

I think it's the promoters AND the networks. Oscar was on the wrong end of some decisions while fighting. As a promoter, I'm not sure what would have changed. Networks want big names stars who can pull in ratings and PPV numbers. Don King was notorious for corrupting judges. CJ Ross was shown the door when she turned in a card in Canelo's favor. She also screwed up a Pac fight pretty bad. Was it incompetence or was it a bribe, and if so, by who?

It sure seems like the decisions in close fights go the way the promoter wants them to go. Sometimes they go the promoter's way in fights that were not close and the obvious winner doesn't win. It's impossible to prove if a judge was bribed or just a terrible fight scorer.
