    (COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO.) - From 2013 through 2015, 2016 Olympic silver medalist and featherweight prospect Shakur Stevenson (Newark, N.J.) (4-0, 2 KOs) opened his competitive year in Reno, Nev. He will return to that tradition in 2018, kicking off the year in an eight-round featherweight contest versus Juan Tapia (Brownsville, Texas) (8-1, 3 KOs) on Friday, February 16 at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino's Grand Theater.

      I hope Shakur fights at least 5x a year and early 2020 he is there on top of game and gets title shot

        Looks like a guy who's no worse than his 2nd best opponent thus far. And this is his first 8 rounder.

        Wish they were keeping him a lil more active. As we are approaching 10mos in the game he's having his 5th fight & I feel like maybe he should have a couple more already. These are standard run of the mill gimmee fights idk why they can't keep him a lil more active with all these TR shows cuz seemingly TR could keep him as active as they want with this ESPN deal now. Has already had a couple 3mos layoffs in a 10mos career lol. Idk if he was injured or something, but for a Olympic medalist I like to see more effort put in on his career.
