Comments Thread For: Jacobs' Manager: We Want Saunders; He's Hiding Behind Promoter

Daniel Jacobs' manager dismissed Billy Joe Saunders' assertion that Jacobs signed with promoter Eddie Hearn as a way to avoid fighting him. Saunders' statements were made in an interview with iFL TV, which posted it Tuesday (http://www.boxingscene.com/saunders-if-jacobs-wanted-me-signed-with-hearn--125021). Keith Connolly, Jacobs' manager, told BoxingScene.com on Wednesday that Jacobs wanted to challenge Saunders for the British southpaw's WBO middleweight title on April 28 at Barclays Center.

good fight for jacobs if it gets made but he beats sulecki, apart from having a good name on his record i don't see why Saunders should risk his canelo payday or GGG unification for all the belts fight to face a dangerous danny jacobs

Fighters not facing opponents who are under rival promoters is a cancer on the sport.

I believe Jacobs he seems a man of integrity. Can't pick a winner in the match up though I feel Saunders has alot more tricks in the bag but jacobs power is an equalizer

I really dont think Saunders wants that fight. He rather cash out vs Canelo if he wins the GGG fight.

ggg still owes jacobs a rematch.

            DJ the boogeyman of 160.

saunders is on a mission to knock off ggg's knockout victims (murray, monroe, lemeiux). lol whos next? rubio maybe.

Sorry Danny, but you already knew the deal when you went to HBO(Hearn). That means you have very little chance of facing Charlo (SHO) or Murata (ESPN). I understand the move, because Lemieux was the target, and the ultimate goal was Canelo/GGG. Now you're stuck, hoping that Canelo/GGG will fight you in a voluntary defense! Good luck with that!

Jacobs manager is right on the money here.. saunders wanted no part of danny! who is jacobs supposed to fight when everyone is afraid to fight him?!?

it has nothing to do with the networks, a deal can be made between them just like a deal is made between two rival promoters. If charlo or saunders wanted the fight bad enough, u bet ur azz it would get made.

Jacobs is not the ducking type. He is willing to fight anyone.. ive been a huge jacobs fan for a very long time now.

Because it's not obvious... Jacobs entire career will be remembered for almost beating golovkin. Ever since that fight he's been extremely entitled. Has no belts, brings in no money, signs a fight and then starts talking about Saunders. Never seen a guy take so much pride in losing
