It would also make sense for Haymon to advise Thurman to make headlines to fight Pacquiao to see if Arum would give in for the unification, though Arum never took the bait, and of course likes the WBO within Top Rank circulation for their own gain. Thurman is his handling his post-injury comeback press badly

I like Thurman and think he is somewhat underrated in this suddenly hot welterweight mix. But the tepid way that Thurman has said he is going to take on a second-rater in his next fight, then vaguely promised big things after that...it doesn't inspire excitement or confidence, that's for sure. And at the same time he's talking backhanded smack.
