"Matchroom Sport's Eddie Hearn reportedly offered Wilder a career high payday to face Whyte in the United Kingdom. The offer was part of a two-fight package that would have landed Wilder a fight with Anthony Joshua if he were to defeat Whyte."

Uh, NO! There was no two-fight guarantee! Wilder would've taken the deal if he was guaranteed AJ next, but Hearn declined!

      October 29, 2017:

"I am the heavyweight champion of the world, I want to unify the heavyweight division and I won't stop until I do that. If Eddie Hearn wants me to fight Dillian Whyte, I have no problem smashing Dillian Whyte but make sure, when you have that contract, you add Anthony Joshua, because I am going to come and knock down that kingdom that I helped build up."

But Hearn is not looking to go in that direction.

He feels strongly that by Wilder coming over to the UK to face Whyte - it will only make the Joshua fight bigger. And he says a victory would give Wilder a revenue boost in the Joshua bout.

However, Hearn is not going to make a contractual clause for Wilder that guarantees him a fight with Joshua.

"No, it doesn’t work that way," said Hearn to Metro when asked if Wilder would get a guarantee to fight Joshua.

A few days ago, WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (38-0, 37 KOs) made it loud and clear that he was willing to fight Dillian Whyte - if promoter Eddie Hearn can guarantee, in a binding contract, that IBF, IBO, WBA world champion Anthony Joshua would be the very next opponent. Joshua returned on Saturday night, when he retained his belts with a tenth round stoppage over late replacement Carlos Takam at Principality in Cardiff.

Apparently Hearn found away to work AJ into a two part deal subsequently and Wilder declined .. 50% or no fight.
Initially he was told just the one Whyte for a massive amount of cash ..

Its quite a sell to AJ .. hey AJ your worst enemy needs a favour to be able to get Wilder ..
.. and what would you do negotiate the AJ % before the Whyte fight ?

The two part may have been too low a percentage or something who knows ... Whyte is No1 with the WBC now so no way Wilder fight him.

No, apparently this article was wrong. There was never a deal for Wilder to fight AJ after Whyte. Now that Whyte is Wilder's mando, Wilder will face Whyte (if Wilder beats Ortiz) in the U.S. as should be! I wished Whyte had faced Big Baby Miller next instead of Lucas Browne! I think Wilder vs. Miller in Brooklyn would be a great fight!

Stop with this garbage Whyte narrative... if Wilder beats Ortiz he should be fighting Joshua. End of story... Eddie and media benefactors need to quit protecting Joshua. The kid can fight, trust he will come out of the ruckus belt in hand. He just beat the best Vlad I had seen in sometime. Stop placing obstacles in the way of the super fight fans want to see!!
