If he wanted the fight, it'd be very easy to make. But notice, he says "if Spence's name comes up...."

Lol, why does Spence's name need to come up? He's a champion, shouldn't Danny be calling for the fight? If a rematch with Thurman is what he wants, I'd like to think having that IBF title guarantees that fight happens.

Cool glad Garcia made that statement. He probably doesn't plan on fighting Spence next but at least he didn't say that's a fight that can happen down the road. So that's good at least.

Later in this same interview, he also says Crawford and Spence need to fight each other, and not worry about him.

Spence will fight Ocampo in June.
Thurman fights TBA in May.
Spence fights DSG towards end of the year.
Thurman fights rematch with Porter towards end of the year.
Those two winners fight each other next year.

At least that's the rumor.

Against Spence it could be a career ending fight for Danny.He's too slow, too small and too stationary.Spence would wreck Danny.

Danny is quite big TBH, he's the same height as peterson but bigger interms of body size.

id love to see it i learned not to doubt danny garcia awhile ago. while i obviously pick spence to win that doesnt mean its not a good fight for danny. I still think he won the Thurman fight

I like Garcia but he isn't making any sense. No one called you a "killer" when you beat Peterson because you barely beat him. Some of us didn't think you beat him in the first place. Spence made Peterson's corner make the critical decision to spear him from the beating he was taking. Spence is a "killer." Garcia is not. Let's hope he has a good win agains Rios.

It would be a great fight Danny. Good first step... but let’s see the negotiations end in a contract. Tired of these champions past and present throwing the media a verbal bone and then trying there hardest to make sure schedules don’t align or price themselves out of the fight. Danny doesn’t have a belt he should be chasing Spence? Why do they have to call you bro? This group of 147 champions is all gun shy. Errol and possibly Crawford are really the only guys looking to test themselves.

Danny is quite big TBH, he's the same height as peterson but bigger interms of body size.

He's not the same height as Peterson. Danny is 5'8" and Peterson is 5'9".

Physique wise Danny is quite huge, very huge actually, but don't lie about his height. He's the same as the other normal weltwerweights (Keith, Mayweather, etc).

Also, his size don't mean shieet! Thurman almost dropped that kid more than once and Thurman was fighting with a bad elbow.

He he Thurman had thrown with mean intentions for the whole fight (as he would have had he not had the elbow thing), he would have definitely stopped Danny. Danny was way too easy to hit and easy to dodge.

Spence will destroy him.

This is a non-story. Garcia has Rios problems.
I'm actually giving Rios a chance at an upset, mainly because Garcia doesn't have foot movement and is a forward fighter. If Rios can make it a brawl, which he should be able to with Garcia's lack of foot movement, we could end up with a repeat of Rios/Alvarado 1.

Hey, props to Garcia for setting the table here and not going the Thurman route on the subject of Spence.

I'd love to see Spence vs. Garcia this year, that would be fantastic.

I'd favor Spence but Garcia fights up and down to his competition sometimes, so Spence could possibly bring out his best work.
