Gassiev Might Have The Best Punch Selection In Boxing Right Now

    Like GGG in his prime....

Gassiev has the jab + left uppercut, jab + left hook to the head, jab + left hook to the liver

of course the conventional jab+ right upstairs or downstairs.

what started it all was the 11th round when Gassiev hit Dorticos with a jab uppercut with the same hand then the right cross. he was on bambi legs.

he transitions between those combos so effortlessly that it froze Dorticos by midfight and he started getting hit with flush left hooks because he tucks his elbow to block the body shots and it's coming upstairs. he blocks after the jab and it's coming downstairs.

he took punishment this fight. i don't know if he'll ever be the same.

Gassiev has a great chin. great stamina(big bear like GGG) and the best offensive arsenal at Cruiser. he's going to hunt down Usyk who don't seem to hit hard.

Usyk is going down imo. bad match up.

I think i would agree but i dont think it will be an easy KO for gassiev like you say
No idea who is going to win tbh, Usyk has the best movement for a big man in any division above 160, and elite skills, but i think Gassiev might be something truly special...hes still 5 years away from his prime FFS

If you put a gun to my head i'd say Usyk by SD.

Oh please. Best punch selection? Have you ever seen Vassily Lomachenko fight? He is going to his 3rd class and will be Optimus prime. Gassiev is good in the inside and brings excitement, but even Joshua or Wilder move faster than him and weigh more. Gassiev has a weird unproportional form. His shoulders looked smaller compared to his head. It limits his ability to perform anything like Usyk

I dont like Usyk. It is going to be interesting to see this clash of styles.

Ive backed Gassiev to win the tournament and i still believe he will.

Maybe not the best, but definitely noteworthy. I couldn't bring my self to pick between Gassiev vs Dorticos, but I was rooting for Gassiev, and I think I'll keep rooting for him even against Usyk.

I like Gassiev but Lebedev showed how he can be out boxed and beaten to the punch. If Gassiev removes all the blue print Lebedev showed then he might win, but right now? I just don't see it against Usyk.

You're getting all caught up, it's so common for boxing fans to overvalue the most recent fight.

I'm not impressed with Gassiev when he's out of range, how he responds to a jab and straight, how he sets up his own attacks, mostly without using the jab to move in.

And I think Gassiev's style favors Usyk more than Briedis' or Dorticos' styles did/would. Also predicted Gassiev to beat Dorticos by points or late KO.

lomachenko throws wingchun like combos with no real power in them.

and he's fighting emasculated manlets. i don't really rate them tbh

Yea he's not far behind but Dorticos was there to be hit but I think AJ selections are great too especially in his last fight.

IDK I like Canelo's punch selection the best atm. He puts little combos together off the counter and they flow really well. But overall it's prob someone like Loma or Linares selection-wise.

But the difference is Linares + Canelo put a little more mustard into their shots, whereas fighters like Usyk and Loma pepper and score.
