That was the Fight of the Year so far, that final is going to be lit, still slightly favor Usyk but damn Gassiev can knock him out any round. Winner of this tournament should be P4P #1 and the Heavyweight champs will be on notice.

If I'm being highly speculative its almost like there is no promoter involved that benefits from one guy winning here so the judges don't gotta find a way to have one guy win rounds that maybe he's not really winning lol.

I'm actually curious to go look at all the WBSS fights now to see if thats a common theme with scoring cuz I believe only a guy or two was Sauerland related & everyone else was outsourced.

I'm rooting on Bellew getting the winner of this tournament. I think that'll be the best option for all parties. In particular if Bellew can score that W over Haye again...but then again he might opt for a bigger HW fight then. So might have to see how that all works out, but eff Lebedev w/e goes down.
Good point - it makes sense for the winner to fight Bellew as he brings the money if it's in the UK, and Bellew gets a shot at all 4 belts.

Win-win for everyone. Personally I'd take the top 5 at CW to beat Bellew

Gassiev took a breather on round 8, so that one went to Dorticos and I thought Dorticos outworked Gassiev the first 4 rounds. So, I had it 6-5 for Gassiev going to the last round.

The thing is, the 6 rounds Gassiev won were very clear for him. While the 5 rounds for Dorticos were kind of like a quality vs quantity situation. Dorticos was more aggressive walking forward those rounds and throwing more punches but Gassiev landed the cleaner shots even though they were a lot less.

So, I can see people giving some of the Dorticos rounds to Gassiev because of that. But I cannot see it the other way around on the 6 rounds Gassiev won. A beating is a beating.
I agree with you on all counts. Good distillation of the fight. I was really impressed with Gassiev rising to the occasion. And that's no disrespect to Dorticos. He made his stands and picked his spots, he just ate too many flush shots at the wrong points and, I think, wasted a lot of punches--even if he picked up stay busy rounds in doing so.

Bellew said on the Sky commentary that he wants to fight the winner of the WBSS and plans to go back down to Cruiserweight. He's already said the other HW's are too big for him.

One of the best fights of the last year. The patience and precision of Gassiev is was excellent and indicative of most of the Russian fighters. I anticipate Bivol does the same to Berrera. Sanchez is one of the best trainers alive

Same here, in the beginning of the fight his output was bigger but his punches were being blocked all damn night and rarely hitting Gassiev. I'm still laughing at that clown ass Andre Ward fangirl who had Dorticos by a point after the 11th. I guarantee you he already had his scorecard prepared before the end of the fight, with either 7-5 for Dorticos or a draw, and was ready to post it here and cry a ''robbery by commies''. But Gassiev destroyed his plan.

That was no beating until 11th.You may think he won those(as I)but they were not close to beatings esp the 9th but I'm not gonna get into no debate on a couple rounds when right guy won and better stuff to do.Good Beating is a beating? I think most people would call that a close fight that Gas took over late far from a beating unless you just wanna talk about last few mins.
