WBA promoted Dorticos to FULL champion before the fight, Lebedev is now the 'champion in recess'. The winner of the tournament has to face Lebedev though, I think they made them mandatory.

Great move by the WBA, now we will have all 4 belts up for grabs in this tournament and Lebedev will be happy to have a shot at all 4 after the tourney

Dorticos has brain damage from the ref refusing to stop the fight after he was clearly done.

No, he got stripped because he refused to go into this tournament. He's OK with it though.

Lebedev was demoted to champion in recess and Murat was promoted to full champion.

Where is an article explaining how Lebedev was demoted? I thought a Championship in recess, particularly Super Champs, can get time off with good reason.

The WBA lists Super Champions on their site as well as World Champions. Just like Mayweather Jr. I remember he was the 154 Super Champion in recess while also defending the WBA Super at 147.

Go to the website now, look at the divisions, there are Super Champions and World Champions. Dorticos was listed as a World Champion.

Great fight. I really enjoyed these two semi final's.

Dorticos is all heart. Kept trying to fight back, and showed an epic chin at times. The ref could of done him a favour and stopped that fight earlier.

Gassiev fought really well. Boxed well on the back foot early, good defence, nice shot selection. His left to the body, hook behind Dorticos' guard and uppercut landed flush a hell of a lot of times.

It's been a good tournament so far. Dorticos and Briedis are real good fighters, but i thinks it's safe to say we all got the final we were hoping for. :ROCK:

That's probably right. All I know is just before the fight the WBA turned Lebedev into Champion in Recess.
