DESPITE THE FACT that darts and Formula One have elected to play to the politically correct gallery, I, for one, certainly have no intention of handing the ring girls their cards. The two sports ditching a dash of glamour has definitely played well with the PC brigade and, truth be told, the scantily clad girls did not have much of a role to play in either of these activities.

This is all well and good, but until the ring girls themselves speak up and stop the nonsensical talk, is not going away. And he's right - jobs are at stake for women.

However, many of them, like Janira Kremets, could just marry a rich celeb and not lift a finger outside the bedroom if they wanted. Yet they chose to work for a living. That's to be respected.

I usually attended a couple fights a year. And I literally never even notice the ring card girls. I think the concept is extremely dated and pretty pointless on today’s age. There’s literally dozens of scoreboards in every arena that shows the round and time clock. 100yrs ago when there were no digital scoreboards in most of these outdoor venues where boxing took place, having a round indicator made sense. Ironically, back then it was usually men that served as round indicators.

Good news. The worlds gone mad in the last couple of years. I was dreading the day when there was transgender freaks at weigh-ins and between rounds. These women enjoy what they do so let them do it.
