Will the Cubans fail at the highest level once again? Gassiev vs Dorticos

Throughout the pros at the highest level and the most career defining fights with the top guys in the division the cubans have always came up short. Let's look at the history. I'm mentioning some of the biggest and top cuban fighters from the 90's and on.
These are just some of the fights. Will the cuban curse continue with doritcos and ortiz or will it be broken?

    1. Cassamayor vs Freitas - Freitas UD
    2. Rid**** bowe vs Marin - Bowe Tko
    3. Lara vs alvarez - Alvarez SD
    4. Gamboa vs crawfrod - Crawford TKO
    5. Rigo vs lomo - Lomo TKO
    6. Gassiev vs Dorticos - ?
    7. Wilder vs Ortiz - ?

I think that Dorticos can be the exception since he fought in the Cuban system but not at the level of Lara, Rigo, Casamayor or Gamboa, he had to grind and go to war to go where he is, while the other cruise to their level based on their skill that was polished at the highest level of amateur boxing, Dorticos fights with a chip on his shoulder.
However, no shame in losing to Gassiev, I predicted that he was going to face Usyk in the final since they tournament bracket was announced.

What about the Cuban that Whitaker fought? He was crusing his way into a wide U.D but whitaker caught him.

Each Cuban boxer is in control of his own destiny. There is no such thing as a Cuban curse. I think Dorticos might lose because Gassiev might be an even better fighter than he is but he won't lose because of a Cuban curse that doesn't exist.

Lara lost a close fight to Canelo because he ran too much to deserve the win in my opinion. Canelo beat him, not a curse.

I remember that against hurtado. I guess I didn't mention cause pernell was sort of past his prime but the guy had his chance and was undefeated.

The Cubans lost the fights you listed because they were outfought by boxers who were better than they were that night and no Cuban curse played any part in their loss in my opinion. If Dorticos preforms better than Gassiev then he will win. The better fighter that night should win.

I thought Casamayor beat Freitas by a few points. I also felt he won the Corrales re-match by a point and earned at least a draw with Castillo.

It's true that no Cuban fighter since Jose Napoles has done enough to be considered a truly great fighter although some of them have had excellent careers like Casamayor.
