Comments Thread For: Erickson Lubin: I Want The Top Dogs at 154, Charlo Rematch

Junior middleweight contender Erickson Lubin (18-1, 13 KOs) thought he was on the verge of a world title when he squared off with WBC champion Jermell Charlo last October at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. In what was a very anticipated fight, Lubin was shockingly knocked out in the first round after Charlo caught him with a right uppercut on the button.

Amir Khan, Abner Mares, ect. a few top level guys have been blasted out in the first round and made a career for themselves so let's not completely write this kid off.

Not writing him off but asking for top dogs and a rematch with a guy who put you in convulsions not a good idea , that's why I said tune up to get mind and body right ..

Glad to see he's still hungry but he should work on slow walking his way back to the top. Biting off more than he could chew is why he is in the position he is in right now.

Take your time.. That Charlo fight proved you just aren't there yet, nothing wrong with that.

I kind of feel bad for Lubin. He made a costly mistake and didn't give himself a chance to show his level. I hope he can consistently work his way back up. He is young and has time. Best of luck to him. He needs to humble himself a bit more though...
