That's where Groves has his best opportunities for a stoppage IMO.
That's how I see the fight panning out. Groves dominating and controlling distance with the jab early, eubank after falling behind on the cards and getting increasingly frustrated he can't get in range starts overreaching with his power punches and gets countered.

Groves can crack and he isn't a small 168 fighter that's made the weight easy. He could probably fight at 175 comfortably. Groves is quite physically strong, in the first half of the first fight with Froch, he was bullying Froch with strength and power, in the clinches too. He's scored some brutal knockouts in his career too and permanently damaged one guy. That's why i don't think Eubank will quite be able to rush Groves like people are saying. He's never fought anybody as big and strong as Groves.

So, it's not that surprising if someone like Groves can **** harder than GGG with a single shot, it should be expected. Groves can probably **** more than pretty much any other SMW, never mind MW.

I agree with what you’re sayin, but what about Eubank Jrs uppercuts on the inside? IMO that is a huge part of his game. When both fighters are close, leaning on eachother, whether it’s with one fighters back against the ropes or in the center of the ring, Eubank Jr loves to rip those uppercuts up the middle, and he has shown a tendency to make guys heads look like PEZ dispensers by coming up through the middle of their guard and cracking them with those uppercuts. Eubanks Jr also has serious hand speed for 168. I’d say those are really his only two advantages going into this fight. Groves has the better jab, better footwork/balance, more punching power, I’d say the chin is up in the air. We haven’t really seen Eubank Jr chin get tested, we have seen Froch hurt Groves but also have seen Groves take some real good shots and keep coming forward. I would bet on Groves to win, but it’s almost a 50/50 fight IMO. I see it as a 55/45 fight.

It is probably true, Groves has good one punch power because he throws it long and at 168 he would probably have a better power than GGG, GGG is definitely heavy handed but with short bust. If you can fell Froch with a single punch and seriously hurt him then you must have good power.

He stiffened froch's legs with a left jab in the second fight, either Carl's punch resistance was on the slide or he's carrying some real power there.

If groves is planning on sitting in the pocket and exchanging combos at mid range then he's already lost the fight.
I don't think he has any intention of fighting like that though, he's self aware about his own strengths and weaknesses and knows eubank has the faster combinations while believing himself to have the better jab and faster straight punches. This fight is all about who controls the distance.
I'm sure Shane will have drilled it into him to keep his discipline and unload at the range he's comfortable at and spoil or tie up at the distance
                  Eubank is most effective.
We've all seen groves dragged into the type of fight he shouldn't be in though and that's the only way I see him losing this one.

Good points, Groves doesn't tuck his chin in really well. But...Jack and Froch hit much harder than Eubank and Groves did OK, not great but OK. Eubank needs guys to step in to his range for his upper cuts and I dont think Groves will fall for that. Groves is a smart boxer, he understands the sport very well. My concerns with Groves are mainly stamina, Eubank wont walk him down so Groves needs to stay outside for 12 rounds.

Doesn't surprise me. I always felt Groves hit harder than Golovkin. Especially when he was at his best against Froch.
