On Monday, the expected second bout between Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin was confirmed for May 5, but the venue and location was not yet revealed. Golden Boy Promotions, the lead promoter of the event and Canelo, still view Las Vegas as the frontrunner and expect that the venue will be determined in no less than two weeks time.

So did I 6 rounds each !! Both guys were very cautious in the first fight so I hope they take more risks in the Rematch

Sure it's gonna be Vegas again, where else they can go? Corrupted state of Nevada.

Both GGG and Canelo have reason to be more confident in the rematch. Because of that, we might see both of them open a bit more and take more risks. As an aside, I don't buy the argument that GGG suddenly got old or that Canelo is scared to fight him. We are going to see more exchanges in the next fight.

Seldom mentioned in the discussion about where the fight will take place is that Nevada does not have a state income tax. That along with the other advantages Las Vegas has is a big obstacle for other potential sites to overcome. Texas does not have a state tax either but at the end of the day, high rollers much prefer Las Vegas to Dallas.
