    VIDEO | Vasyl Lomachenko drills wrestling, teases UFC move

    Riding high off an impressive defeat of Guillermo Rigondeaux, rising boxing superstar Vasyl Lomachenko is now angling for an April or May scrap with Jorge Linares.

    On Tuesday morning, Lomachenko took to Twitter to share a video of himself drilling wrestling, suggesting that if Linares didn’t to put pen to paper soon, he might be forced to pursue a career in the UFC in the meantime. Of course, it’s worth noting that the boxer included a tear-eyed laughing emoji in this post…

    “You ready to fight me at 135 [Jorge Linares]?” Lomachenko queried. “If not, maybe I’ll go win a belt in the UFC first while waiting on you.”

    Lomachenko has brushed with the world of mixed martial arts before, having sparred with TJ Dillashaw in the past.

    “I need to learn what’s up,” Dillashaw told ESPN of the opportunity to share the ring with Lomachenko. “I’m always trying to expand my knowledge as a mixed martial artist. I’m such a big fan [of Lomachenko], I wouldn’t pass this opportunity up. Even if I get obliterated, it’s something I’ll remember forever.”

    Interestingly, Dillashaw quickly responded to Lomachenko’s UFC Tweet, urging him to contact the promotion.

    @TJ DILLASHAW
    "Come to the Octagon and let’s do this. Hit up DanaWhite seanshelby"

    Lomachenko then responded with an emoji-laided Tweet, cementing the fact that he was probably just joking around about moving to the UFC.

    Do you think Vasyl Lomachenko could perform in the UFC’s Octagon?

    Boxing ace Vasyl Lomachenko hits the wrestling mats and teases a possible move to the UFC – where TJ Dillashaw would apparently be waiting.

      This is going to become the norm folks get used to it.

      MMA guys teasing boxing match or careers. Boxers teasing MMA fights or careers. And some might even take the dive like "Venom" Page is doing right now (although I think he's simply trying to avoid real fights in MMA, where he's been unusually babied compared to most, to be babied in boxing for awhile).

        It would be crazy to see Loma vs Mighty Mouse.

          Lomo would destroy Mighty Mouse.

          Lomo is a Phenom. Was just as good at Wrestling as at Boxing when he was a Kid...give him 6 months preparation and he would easily handle MM.

            Id definitely go for Loma over any1 in mma. & it'd be a huge win. Mighty mouse has crazy submissions. Loma would have to live like a wrestler for at least a year. Hed also have to learn how to check a kick.

              I'm not impressed.

              stick to fighting fighters a few weight classes below and those coming off loses.
