Anybody remember what LeBron looked like when he started playing in the NBA? The kid was 19, and looked much older. By the time he was 23, he could easily pass for thirty. Shit, Even now, at only 33, he could pass for 40. Apparently a lot of you guys think it’s the same with Ortiz. And, as with LeBron, Luis is actually the age he says he is. Dudes need to drop this non-issue. All the evidence you can possibly find is out there. I don’t see anyone producing evidence to the contrary.

I think he was poor as child and was underfed and missed some vitamines. The same you can see with rivaldo.

People still talking about a fighter's age? I'd rather talk how they look in the ring no matter how young or old they are.

The rate fighters see action in the ring today, age is not a good indicator of their ability.

Is Cuba's record keeping bad? For a country with socialized medicine you'd think their birth records are pretty accurate.

Now this is bad record keeping
When Manute Bol retired from the NBA in 1995, he was 32. At least, that’s what most people believed, because that’s the age was listed in his bio at the time. But according to a former college basketball coach who helped bring Bol to the U.S. in the 1980s, Bol may have actually been much, much older than that. He also may have been damn-near 40 when he was playing college basketball.

The revelation about Bol’s age came to light this week thanks to Kevin Mackey, a former head coach for Cleveland State who now serves as a scout for the Indiana Pacers. Mackey spoke with zagsblog.com and talked about how Oct. 16, 1962, Bol’s supposed birthday, wasn’t actually Bol’s birthday at all. He admitted to making up the date soon after he brought Bol to the U.S. for a recruiting visit. He said Bol "didn’t know how old he was" at the time, which made it easy for Mackey to simply make up an age up for him.

Bol was listed at 28 years old when he began playing for the Sixers in 1990, but Williams believes he was actually twice that age. “He used to say that he was 35 years old, but I used to be on the bench looking at all the circles and scars around his head,” explained Williams, “and I asked him one day, ‘Manute, what are those scars on your head?’ And he says, ‘Well, the white man lost my birth certificate in the jungle, so every five years I take a rock and I slice one across my head.’ I was like, ‘All right,’ and then I started looking at it the next game and I said, ‘Holy s—, Manute Bol is 55 years old.’”

Fair play to Ortiz for putting it in the contract that his younger brother gets a spot on the undercard though :
