Nobody ever said punch-stats or Compubox have anything to do with scoring a fight, but they are the best record for characterizing a particular fighter's punch selection when viewing the fight as a whole. It has never been a vehicle to judge a punches "effectiveness". Why are you mixing apples and oranges?

Because the person I was responding to was saying that Golovkin landed less power shots as a justification for saying he lost. I was pointing out that judges

Canelo doesnt have the fire, that extra oomph past mexican greats like Morales, marquez and barrera had.

He isnt the kind of fighter who is willing to walk through fire to win fights. That is what separates the good fighters from the greats.

All he did in the first bout was try to survive. I didnt see no real urgency from him. Sure he moved well and showed good defense but he didnt really try to hurt Golovkin.

But i dont hold that against him cuz he isnt same from the same cloth. He isnt cut out like that.

The ropes we're safer for him because he couldn't take the pressure. All Golovkin had to do was land punches when Canelo was on the defensive. It's obvious to almost everyone but you.
