  • Comments Thread For: Keith Thurman: Two Fights - Then I'm Ready For Errol Spence!

WBC, WBA welterweight champion Keith Thurman (28-0, 22 KOs) wants to use 2018 to shake off the rust from his extended layoff. Thurman was last in the ring back in March of 2017, when he won a twelve round unanimous decision over Danny Garcia to unify their welterweight titles at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Porter and Garcia are "tune-ups", he thinks very highly of Spence

As I have posted several times look for this bout if it even happens at the end of 2019 I'm sure Thurman's so-called opponents will not be top-caliber...

I don't see a problem with this since I want to see Thurman fight Spence with both at 100% it probabaly favours Spence too as his will only gain more experience before they meet in 2019

Saying that you will be ready and actually making the fight are two different things. He said in 2015 that he could see him fighting Spence in 2017. Here we are in 2018 and he isn't ready. I'm not watching any of this clown's fights until he is trying to do something other than less important rematches. Ridiculous for a unified titleholder in his prime to do all this nonsense, especially after all the crap he has talked in the past.

I understand one fight, but not two. Why? Because if Thurman is healthy enough to face Shawn Porter, then he's healthy enough for Errol Spence Jr.! My only concern is whether Thurman would be stripped if he doesn't face Porter or Garcia. If the WBC/WBA will not allow Thurman to face Spence Jr. in a unification, then I'll give Thurman a pass. However, if they don't have a problem with it, then I have a problem with Thurman! That being said, SALUTE to Lamont Peterson, for dropping a belt for a chance to be GREAT!

no way he's fighting gracia and porter back to back then go into the spence fight. he's using those 2 names to not look bad. he's gonna end up fighting some no namer then maybe rematch either gracia or porter, maybe! i see him taking on 2 easier fights then fight spence after.
