Yeah the fight is definitely more doable than Matthysse-Garcia imo. As I say it all down to Bob Arum whether he really wants it.

Nonsense. Being under one umbrella can ensure mismatches too, just look at PBC.

If Matthysee can't fight any better than he did last night even the 39 year old version of Pacquiao would easily beat him in my opinion. He looked slow, overweight and just terrible all the way around. I loved the Matthysse of a few years back who threw lots of fast accurate , powerful punches. He never showed up at all yesterday. He looked like a shot sluggish boxer.

It's not gonna happen, for the simple reason that Matthysse could legitimately beat Pacquiao. Instead, Arum will put Pac in a fight he knows he'll win so he can then make a mega-fight with Crawford after he beats Horn. Can't risk La Maquina upsetting the apple cart and ruining that payday. Maybe if Pacquiao keeps fighting after the loss to Crawford it could happen, but we're probably talking 2019 at that point, who knows if either guy will still be around by then

You will always have mismatches. That is how you build fighters. But when the public wants a fight between two PBC fighters, it eventually happens, just not as fast as the nerds prefer.

And PBC only has to be as careful as they are because they don't have total control yet. If they ever gain total control, they'll be able to speed up how quickly they deliver the big fights.

We were discussing apples and you changed the subject to oranges. Mismatches and ducking are two separate things. If Crawford was with PBC, he would fight some mismatches, but he would also fight Spence and Thurman.

Haymon could have made much better fights in the last few years. Only reason he started matching some of his top fighters up is because he was bleeding money. No Garcia/Porter, no Floyd vs. Thurman, Garcia, Porter, Charlo. Stevenson hides behind him so he doesn't have to fight anyone with a pulse. None of his fighters have earned more than $2M per fight despite whatever efforts were made to boost their popularity.

Of course he could have, but that doesn't mean doing so would be wise. Every promoter could put on better fights if they wanted to, but if you blow through all your big fights and beat all of your guys, before long you have nothing left. Haymon has to pace himself just as Arum, DLH and others have to pace themselves. But Haymon is still delivering more big non-PPV match ups than anybody else.

False. You have no idea what you're talking about, have no way of knowing anything and you're just pulling stuff out of your ass.

Haymon has always matched up his top fighters, just never all at once and he always takes his time. Thurman vs. Porter a couple years ago, Thurman vs. Garcia last year, Thurman vs. Porter rematch this year, Thurman vs. Spence next year, etc.

I think Bob will try to match Alvarado with Matthysse first and the winner will fight Pacquiao at the end of the year. Meanwhile Pacquiao should get a tune up fight in the Philippines or something in April.
