Jennings gave Wlad one of his toughest fights in the past decade, WAY more competitive than Pedvetkin & Haye. Keep down playing these guys.

Respect the confidence but you have to actually accomplish something first before people believe it.

Heavyweight Divisions has GREAT HISTORY, you can't half ass your way into GREATNESS in that Division Sorry! Wilder STILL doesn't have a Major Win in his career and no Stivernie Twice is NOT IT

          This Era of Heavies?

Tyson has lost to lesser fighters/punchers than Wilder like Douglas. Even Lewis was stopped by McCall & Rahman. Ali got knocked down by Cooper who is around the same size as Kovalev. Joe Louis was down against Tony two ton Galento. Foreman was down 2x against Lyle etc.

It's taken Wilder time to get to where he is due to a lack of an amateur pedigree and filling out his frame but right now he's a monster.

This is not the 00's division, this is a new era. HW is not trash anymore.

The best era of heavyweights of all time was the 70's
era. Ali, Foreman, Frazier, Norton, Shavers and numerous other contenders. They all fought each other. Let us not forget Larry Holmes who started doing his thing in the late 70s. By the way, the heavyweights from this era gladly stepped in the ring with each other and tested their skills. The same can be said about all divisions during this era. In today's market, it is easy for fighters to duck one another. All a fighter needs to do is price himself out or be obligated to a particular promotor for a fight not to happen. Promotors tend to keep fights in-house which is a disservice to boxing and the fans.

Why would a grown man say another grown man could kick their ass?

I have the 70s era in the top 3 heaviy eras of all time. This era is not the 00's where it was a lack of talent, it's clearly faaaar better. This era is just absolutely filled with super heavies, massive human beings that are also skilled.

I just think science, population, etc. all of it has contributed and made this era of heavies really really good. I mean if you look at the population in 1970 it was only 3.7 billion, in 2018 it's 7.6 billion. There are 4 billion more people than there were in the 70's, that contributes a lot to the talent pool.

Yes. Wilder's confidence in himself is a positive thing, but having others believe in his self-proclaimed superiority over past greats like Tyson... that requires a body of work to persuade fans to his side. I think he falls short here.

Tyson would kill Wilder in a few rounds. Not as fast as people think, but fast. Lesser men than Wilder held a few rounds against Tyson.
