Its Fight Pass you f#cking knuckleheads. Its not promoting. Its like BoxNation picking up a fight.

And Fight Pass has been showing combat sports, besides MMA, for YEARS already. Boxing has long been in play & I & a couple other cats said Fight Pass would eventually show boxing. I'd even argue this is later in the game then I'd originally expected.

I believe RJJ has discussed doing a deal with Island Fights, his MMA promotion, numerous times so RJJ gots a relationship with Dana already so this isn't that surprising a move.

Yeah I agree on this. Plus I spent a few hours with Lorenzo Fertitta, and Lawrence Epstein (CEO) a few weeks ago in Vegas (Dana was in Thailand). The UFC is definitely moving into boxing. Epstein wouldn't go into specifics but whatever their move is, he felt very good about it.

I suspect FOX has something to do with all of this too.

You're totally right, that buying content for fight pass isn't what they've been suggesting. Whatever it is, its bigger than this.

Oh yea this is two different things. Fight Pass buys combat sports content (& could potentially show boxing content put out by "Zuffa Boxing" in the future) & "Zuffa Boxing" is going to be a legit promoter. RJJ & Zuffa Boxing aren't connected...or if they are this news with RJJ isn't any proof they are.

What makes you say Fox has something to do with this? I've been feeling like UFC & Fox are soon to part ways cuz they aren't offering what the UFC is wanting from the sounds of it.

Hands down my favorite fighter of all time. I'm glad this is his last fight, just sad to see him go out like this

RJJ is the greatest fighter to ever lace em up. He deserved better than this

When Epstein brought it up he was very optimistic about it. Gave me the impression that they're looking to make an aggressive play. So I started thinking about what was possible and the only thing that makes sense to me is some sort of Fox/UFC/PBC deal. I have no idea honestly, but that's all that made any sense to me. He wouldn't go further, but his exact words were, "UFC will definitely be moving into boxing soon. Some things are in development, but we are confident, it's happening." I was like whoa. So something is coming.

Well the UFC moving into boxing is a known thing doe. The Fox angle would be a whole new thing. And the PBC angle seems like a solid educated guess since Haymon has the best free agents in the game & this Zuffa Boxing thing will need fighters (why on earth nutty boxing fans keep thinking they are gonna have their MMA roster in boxing gloves is beyond my understanding, but they'll be the most surprised with the first show I guess).

There is another cat here (Scorpio) who believes PBC will be moving forward with some Fox deal once the UFC is out with their current deal. Would be really interesting if the UFC leaves Fox to open up a deal with Zuffa Boxing/PBC.

I personally just feel that the UFC is going to move on doe & do a deal elsewhere & that Zuffa Boxing will likely be in that deal too. That all said I still feel like the "future is coming" lol & that the streaming platforms will be making major plays for live sports in the coming years + its a more innovative product with being able to customize how you view sports (from the 50yd line, alternate commentaries, only listen to your favorite fighters corner, etc & so on) so I think Amazon or Hulu or some new entity could pop up outta nowhere & take the UFC/Zuffa Boxing rights & broadcast TV is out or there is just one or two lower level channels where some UFC/Zuffa Boxing gets shown at maybe or something.
