Canelo has very fast accurate combinations and perhaps the fastest hands in the middleweight division. His speed of foot is not equal to his hand speed so he is not the fastest boxer overall pfp. Loma is faster as is Rusell and a few other boxers but Canelo's blazing fast accurate hands are very impressive. I don't think the thread starter gives a damn about Canelo's speed and is just using that as a starting point to attack GGG's fighting ability.

Is Canelo Alvarez the fastest boxer in the world today pound for pound?

I don't even think he's that fast so I certainly don't think he's the fastest. He has quick counters but that's more timing than anything. Unless a whole lot of much faster boxers suddenly retired, the answer is no.

How does that happen????

Canelo has deceptive speed. GRJ & Khan quick hands and Lomachenko pretty much has everything else.

The size difference is just so massive to judge guys who are so tiny or so much bigger.
Andrade has the best combination speed in the division.
Charlo has the best one punch speed but his combination speed sucks.
Canelo has a quick mind and good upperbody movement and that's it.

Jacobs is bigger and stronger then Canelo but handspeed and accuracy is no comparison. Jacobs literally winds up and swings for the fences and misses a lot. Andrade shouldn't even be in the discussion for many reasons. And Charlo doesn't even have faster hands then his brother let alone Canelo. GGG had problems with Jacobs foot movement not really his hand speed. GGG had problems with Canelo's handspeed all night. When they both exchanged Canelo's punches got their first and more cleanly that's why he looked so damn slow. When Canelo showboated or took breaks on the ropes GGG couldn't hit him but more importanly was afraid to throw any body shots because he was worried about Canelo's hands. He never had to worry about that when Jacobs was on the ropes despite Jacobs being the bigger and stronger. Jacobs being on the ropes is one of the reasons he got dropped.

That slow and plodding Golovkin must have done something right!
Canelo lost the fight by not fighting, nothing to do with Golovkin's skills.
