Comments Thread For: Frank Warren: I Suspect Canelo Wants No Part of Saunders Now

LAST WEEK WE set the Belfast bandwagon rolling with official confirmation of what should be an enthralling night at the SSE Arena on April 21. Carl Frampton said before his last fight that it would be the highest quality card staged in his home city, but I believe we have now got one that will surpass that November night.

IDK why too many fools are putting too much weight on Saunders win over Lemeuix. Some fighters, fanboys, and even some promoters now are putting Saunders on a pedestal now.
Yes it was a nice win for Saunders, he did look impressive in the fight but at the end of the day he defeated David Lemeuix.
Lemeuix is nothing special and definitely not an A level fighter so I don't know what the big deal is over that victory. Let him beat an A level fighter and then I'll be impressed but so far I'm not. He's a good fighter but Canelo, Jacobs, Charlo, and Maybe Triple g still will all whoop his ass! No doubt about it!

Old fish eyes trying to drum up interest in a fight between them. I'm sorry but while I concede that Saunders does look better since he moved trainers he could still get ruined by the likes of Canelo, Jacobs and GGG. I think if he ever fights Eubank again he gets stopped.

Typical current UK tactic.......trying to turn respectable victories into the Rumble in the Jungle.

I take your point, but I think what was genuinely impressive was not the victory itself, but he magnitude of it. Whatever your opinion of Lemeuix, he clearly has dangerous power and Saunders comprehensively negated that.

A better, more mobile fighter may do better, that remains to be decided, but that win signalled that Saunders could potentially give a better fighter problems.

Oh no doubt. Like I said, he won in impressive fashion and it was a good win for him. So much props to Saunders on his victory.
But I'm not ready to put him in the top 3 of the division just yet. I still think Canelo, Jacobs, Charlo and Triple g are better than him. But I think he has a better chance of beating Triple g out of any of the 4 guys I mentioned. I do think he'll be able to outbox Triple g. Not saying he will but he definitely has a chance.
