gervontay david vs Billy Dib ordered by IBF per Fat "Iron" Dan

On Jan. 3, the IBF ordered former featherweight world titlist Billy Dib (43-4, 24 KOs), 32, of Australia, and former junior lightweight titlist Gervonta Davis (19-0, 18 KOs), 23, of Baltimore, to meet in a title eliminator to determine the mandatory challenger for junior lightweight titlist Kenichi Ogawa. With the Dib and Davis camps unable to make a deal the IBF on Friday ordered a Jan. 29 purse bid at its offices in Springfield, New Jersey. The sides could still reach a deal before the bid takes place. Promoters interested in bidding must submit a $5,000 nonrefundable participation fee. Dib, as the higher-ranked fighter in the IBF rankings, would receive 60 percent of the winning bid and Davis, stripped of the belt in August for failing to make weight, would receive 40 percent. It remains to be seen what will happen, however, with the belt because Ogawa faces being stripped in the wake of a positive drug test related to his controversial decision win against Tevin Farmer for the vacant belt on Dec. 9.

Didn't see boxingscene pick up on this. Yes Billy Dib who got stopped by Gradovich and Miura who are both now retired.

Well... I'm not super impressed with Tank TBH - decent but not special in my book - but I don't give other fighters flak for fighting **** mandos so I ain't gonna blame him either. It is what it is.

Totally.. I don't blame him either. Just like IBF ordered Golovkin to fight the ex-convict who we never hear again. Just get the mando outta the way and over and done with. Davis fighting on the Figueroa-Broner undercard so I assume it will be against Billy The Goat.

Tank is not the "kind" of fighter I support but I like a fighter who knock out his opponents so I give him that. So is with Devontay "Windmill" Wilder.

Just biding his time until Garcia vacates his 135 lb title which Gaymon/Floyd already went to the trouble of having him ranked for.

Of course he could move up and actually take that thing from him, but Garcia would perform the world's most expensive tattoo removal on him and knock the crappy tats right off of him.

Al Sharpt... I mean Haymon would have a fit over that, Im sure...

              He young doe..

After he knocks Billy Dib out under 5 rounds (any betting man can safely put their house on it ), I wanna at least see him fight someone from the PBC stable like t-rex arm Gary Russell Jr. to see if hes really the real deal.

              But again he young doe..

It's not a mando is it? Davis lost the title on the scales las ttime. It is just poor, safety first, lets try to sell this turd match making so common in boxing, particular with the likes Davis is working with.

Dib hasn't been a relevant fighter in years, doesnt even have a division and holds not belts .How does this benefit Davis?

Ha. Yeah... actually I just skimmed the article before, but you're completely right. I mean I guess I can't really blame Tank for trying to get the strap, but it remains a very pointless fight.

Yeah you're right its not a mando cos Davis is not the champ but its a eliminator for the title. But then again the Jap failed the drug test so the title is vacant. Maybe Davis/Billy can be for the vacant title with the winner having to fight the Farmer who got robbed of his crops..
