My bad, didnt see that. People actually believed he was making over 3 mill though which is crazy. People also think Garcia is getting 3.5 mill to fight Lipinets lol

It is a shame but when Spence, Thurman, Garcia, and all the top Pbc fighters are only fighting once a year its hard to build a fighters popularity. Plus most arebt signed to promoters which gives them another disadvantage. Say what you want about Arum but his fighters fight 2-3 times a year and Arum is constantly hyping them

People were saying that dumb **** to go along with their dumb theory that Haymon had to pay Spence 3.5m to keep him from moving to Golden Boy.

          Try not to laugh.

depending on your expectations you can view these as good or bad ratings. If you compare to what Showtime used to pull in for ratings years ago these are bad. If you compare to what HBO drew just last year it's bad (BOXING AFTER DARK fights last year like these below did better)

Jorge Linares vs. Luke Campbell 687K viewers
Miguel Berchelt vs. Takashi Miura 683K viewers

But if you just look at what Showtime did last year these are pretty good ratings. I think that's a better gauge really besides Broner and Wilder nobody cracking 600K on showtime these days. You had about 20 fights last year hit 600K viewers on premium cable and only 4 of them were showtime

Mikey Garcia vs. Adrien Broner 881K
Deontay Wilder vs. Bermane Stiverne 824K
Adrien Broner vs. Adrian Granados 779K
Anthony Joshua vs. Wladimir Klitschko 659K

Thurman and Danny Garcia haven't fought on Showtime in a long time but if they did last year I suspect they draw similar to Broner. So Spence did well IMO. He's already a bigger draw then guys like Mikey Garcia, Leo Santa Cruz, Charlo bros, Adonis Stevenson have gotten recently on Showtime. FYI Mikey drew 544K last year without Broner. It will be interesting to see what Mikey does in march to see if his ratings rise post Broner win and what Danny Garcia draws in his return to Showtime.

This was competing against 2 MMA events (the biggest ones they have had in a while). They should have put this on CBS. If only Spence could get better opponents then this would do better too. I was at the fight live and the arena was full of people.

Same. I saw the trend a couple of years ago. For years HBO was the home for boxing, but that's changed. Now we are seeing a lot of new talent on the Showtime (Haymon) side of it.
