Shawn Porter Video Interview - Errol Spence Jr. was even more dazzling in defending his title than he was while winning it. Spence battered Lamont Peterson until the fight was stopped a second into the eighth round Saturday night in the first defense of the welterweight title he won last year.

I think from what i have heard and seen from both Thurman and Porter, they would do the rematch first before either of them entertain the idea of fighting Spence. I like Thurman's honesty about not being ready yet and i do believe he isn't, but Porter's excuse is a bit lame.

Funny thing is Porter has nowhere to turn. He doesn't have an obvious opponent to fight while he waits on Keith for a "mandatory" (which is b/s because the WBC rarely enforces those). His fear of Spence will keep him out of the ring until late 2018 at the earliest if he continues to duck Spence. There's nobody to fight. He's coming off fighting two no hopers as it stands now. He's embarrassing himself.

I definitely agree with this, he has no one to fight until Thurman is back in there, and Porter is basically either waiting for that mandatory shot or willing to fight bums until Thurman is ready.

Like someone else said a couple of days ago Spence is being pushed by the TV networks and soon he is going to be the man that everyone has to see. They would be begging him for fights soon.

This was like the Mayweather situation, when no one wanted to fight him, Mosley had a toothache, Oscar was not interested etc.

But Mayweather eventually became his own man and didn't have to call out anyone.
