OK, I think Hearn is just looking out for Whyte, he has done a great job getting him closer and closer to the WBC shot. Whether he gets his chance or get ducked would be up to the WBC.

Hearn is one of the best promoters in the world. Probably my favorite. He's done a great job with Whyte.

He's just been very misleading with some of his public statements about Whyte. As he should be. He's a promoter after all. It's his job to lie, or at least twist the truth.

Whyte is not the mandatory. He's simply ranked #1. Yes, he won an eliminator, but so did Breazeale. In theory, they'll meet in a final eliminator to determine the next mandatory. Wilder's not going to have to fight another mandatory for a very long time. There's no rush.

There are a few holes in his story. #1 - Even if the WBC was incredibly strict about Wilder's next mandatory (and they're rarely strict about mandatories), mandatories at heavyweight are 12 months, not 9 months. Eddie knows that. He's being purposely misleading. #2 - Whyte is not the mandatory. He just happens to be ranked first. Big difference. He hasn't won a final eliminator and hasn't been declared the mandatory. He'll likely have to face Breazeale to become mandatory. Eddie knows that. He's being purposely misleading.

Further, even if Whyte does eventually become the mandatory, Wilder's cut of the purse bid will be more, and it'll be a cleaner offer, than what Hearn was offering before. Which is one of the reasons Hearn's offer wasn't enticing.

I know you love AJ and that's great. You're a loyal fan. But try to keep in mind that just because AJ is a great fighter than you enjoy watching, it doesn't mean everything his promoter says is the truth or framed fairly.
Good post, Hearns talking a good line in bull**** as usual!

He doesn't need to "corner" Wilder.

If AJ and Wilder both get through their next fights just put up the contracts for Wilder-Joshua fight.

I think Wilder's objection was Hearns wanting him to have to go through Whyte to get Joshua and giving Hearns contract options.

They think that they can control who Wilder fights lmao. The coward Joshua is truly a coward. We are heading too much from this ugly ass mofo Hearn. That's already a negative in boxing when a promoter is doing a lot of the talking for a fighter.
