    It remains to be seen...

The first step is having enough power to gain his respect. Otherwise, he'll walk you down, and take your best shots and smile at you.

He's not that difficult to beat at all. He's a solid fighter and he hasn't fought a solid opponent yet. Kell Brook was coming off surgical face reconstruction and coming back down 2 weight classes after going up 2. Tell me that's the same Brook that fought Porter????? Hah....

And you say, "Hey BJL, hey man, what's it matter, bro?". I'll tell you, bro, don't sweat it.

People have a tendency to ride waves when they come in and get caught in the rush thinking "THIS IS THE BEST WAVE EVER OMGGG". I'm glad fans are enjoying it - Spence is very fun to watch - but people also get caught up in the hype and can't properly evaluate what they're seeing.

Same thing happened with Pacquiao, Golovkin, Kovalev, Broner, etc. These are all solid fighters, but at one point in time posters on here would have others believe those guys would KTFO SRR or Duran or Ali or SRL or Hagler, etc.

Golovkin looked ordinary against Jacobs and Canelo, two solid B or B+ level guys. And he looked ordinary despite being touted (by some on this very forum) as the Greatest MW of all time (seriously those threads existed lmfao).

When Spence fights an equally talented guy you'll see what I mean. Crawford is the only guy at 147 who is equally talented. The rest are C+, B-, or B level fighters.

And to beat Spence? Responsible defense, reliable chin, strong/effective counter-punching, and excellent stamina.

JMM, for example, would destroy Spence if their ages and weights were the same.

Maybe a Boxer, with supreme body and head, movement, fast hands, footwork where he can glide across the ring, an unorthodox style and has lightening reflexes.

You have to be willing to take punches to land your own.

Hand speed and good feet/head movement. Defense is key against a guy like spence. A good jab and the ability to fire quick power shots off that jab. Decent enough power for him to have your respect and keep him honest. His defense isn't the tightest so someone that can get some big counter shots while he's on the attack. Someone with a good engine to fight for 12 full rounds.

The two fighters that best fit this criteria are Thurman (although he doesn't have a jab and his stamina down the stretch is questionable) and definitely Crawford.

He looked invincible because he just fought a guy that he could walk right through. Peterson is a good fighter but we have seen him dominated before, it wasn't a hard stretch to realise that Spence, the biggest fighter he's fought to date, and elite talent to boot, would dominate him.

But you also can't forget that Brook was dead even with him after 8 rounds, and thats because Spence was probably feeling Brook's shots a little more, and thus he had to respect the power on the way in.

At distance he can be picked off by elite boxers. But to keep that up over 12 rounds is easier said then done, he is very physically domineering at WW and he has good skills, decent speed, and sound technique to go with it.

I think Thurman will give him a serious scrap, he'll have to watch out for those body shots, but Spence will have to watch out for Thurman's counters and right hands, and unlike Brook, Thurman's shots will be coming from more angles and probably more wide shots. I actually think that will be harder for Spence to deal with because the shots come in out of your line of sight.

Same with Danny Garcia - that is not an easy fight. Danny has an iron chin, and iron will. Plus he throws back with real spite.

I'd like to see Spence in with both these guys. People think these fights are forgone conclusions, and already anointing Crawford-Spence as the end game. It very well maybe, but these are great match ups, and I don't see them as forgone conclusions.

You have to be able to do a little bit of EVERYTHING! Box from the outside but also be strong with a good inside game on the inside! I felt that Kell Brook HAD the best SET OF ATTRIBUTES to BEAT Spence Jr reason being because of his SIZE and STRENGTH on the inside in which he was able to push Spence Jr around early and Kell can also Box

But again the Body Work takes a ***ing TOLL that is his Equalizer, it is DRAINING and that is what happened to Kell Brook The BODY SHOTS is what lead to the EYE Injury. The body Shots makes you drop your Guard to protect your body then he starts to go upstairs and really do damage

SO it will take a COMPLETE FIGHTER at 147 to beat him at least. Maybe 154-160 maybe a guy with more Power can Knock Him Out but that is the Simple Minded Casual Boxing Fans Go To Answer: "MOVE UP! FIGHT SOMEBODY BIGGER WITH MORE POWER BECAUSE I WANT TO SEE YOU LOSE"

It would take place with Spence walking out of his dressing room but not quite out to arena , he would be stopped for sure !

Don't give him the space to get his punches off, overhand hooks, out pressure him and put him on the back foot.

A fighter would need the strength and weight to push him back, the stamina to throw a 1000 punches a fight and have KO power in each hand
Spence is to dam big. Can’t nobody at 147 do that. Dude is blistering sharp, tremendous ring iq, and a massive welterweight... don’t see anybody at 147 doing anything like that to him. Even at 154 I don’t think many guys could do that.
