all debatable decisions deserve a rematch. easter is delusional talking about "best against the best". if you cant convincingly beat fortuna then you aint no "best".

and when a fighter/trainer starts talking that "running" sht they expose how limited they are. if mofos want to ban footwork ("running") then fck it put these fighters in phone booths.

and fortuna wasn't "running" all that much because the only one that wobbled and hurt was easter.

this clown is damn paper champ until he rematches and whoops fortuna leaving no doubt.

all decisions that are hotly debated should be mandatory rematches. that should be law. ray leonard will forver be a hoe for not running it back with hagler.

Easter would be wise to avoid Fortuna. He would be beaten more decisively and the Haymon paid judges would have a hard time denying him again. Easter better keep names like Mikey and Loma out his mouth cuz they would destroy him.

He obviously just wants those big paydays against Linares and Garcia, however I think its ridiculous hes acting like hes above fighting guys like Fortuna when he got beat but won a gift decision over him. If he struggled against Fortuna why would he think Garcia and Linares are winnable fights? He just went full Amir Khan mode.

Running.

Moving with out throwing punches.
Boxing using laterial movement yet throwing jabs and coming in off your jab to throw combinations.

Ex; Fortuna moved from corner to corner with out even offering a jab, that's RUNNING!
Canelo moving from corner post to corner post is Not Engaging, that's running. When this is repeated for more than half to three quarters of every round your refusing to engage.

Fortuna did well when he moved his hands but he is the challenger (or would have been if he honored the contract) He simply ran and out scored instead of outscored and took it to the Easter Bunny!
He could have stopped the champ but he let the champ take the center of the ring the vast majority of the time. Without the Bunny stalking there wouldn't be a fight!!!!

Pep was ca mover and his jab was scoring repeatedly, same with Canzanero, Charles, Ali, Leonard, Sweet Pee

On the move and adding punches, taking the play often is boxing. Running is giving ground and wasting 3/4 of a round by not engaging. I don't honor that type of performance.
Did either guy look exhausted after the fight? They both
gave a crappy effort and thats whats seen far to often in the current era.
I couldn't believe these two men were champions and contenders, sorry but they are C- guys and completely
forgettable.

Some of these comments are very interesting. I'm not sure I've seen a fighter criticized like this for wanted to fight the best. Easter wants to fight the best in his division, and that's the mindset he SHOULD have. Do I think he can beat those guys, no, but he's behaving like a true fighter and is willing to prove himself.

If Garcia or Linares were openly calling him out, and he said "Well, I'm not ready yet," he'd get called a ducker and rightfully so, because champions should be LOOKING to fight other champions.

I don't think Easter is scared of a rematch, he would just prefer to fight Garcia or Linares because those fights are more meaningful.

How dare he want to challenge himself. If the welterweights had as much heart as Easter, we'd actually see Spence in with some decent competition. Once again, I DON'T think he can beat the other champions in his division, but HE'S supposed to believe he can.

that is true, but were also too often too accepting of rigged results. this sport is corrupt and crooked and were too used to it. often us

A lot of these fights are not "rigged" only because they are so mismatched, no need to fix them. Easter was supposed to sleep Fortuna and in this case, the mismatch was not enough. Everybody knows now that Easter has tall man disease, little or no lateral motion.
