Comments Thread For: DiBella Doubts Arum Wants to Put Crawford in With Spence Now

NEW YORK Lou DiBella doesn't dispute Terence Crawford's greatness. Crawford's last two wins were a knockout of Julius Indongo, who's now promoted by DiBella, and a technical knockout of Felix Diaz, who's also promoted by DiBella. If Crawford fights Errol Spence Jr. at some point, DiBella envisions an extremely competitive contest either fighter could win.

Well obviously. In this era two big names/P4P discussed guys aren't going to fight each other very often without both holding a belt. Spence gots a belt. Crawford still needs to get one before this fight would even be made.

And even then I suspect it'll be harsh getting the sides to agree if this is a ESPN or Showtime fight.

Dibellla just wanted to sneak a few jabs at Arum. There's no reason to even discuss it right now. We know what the ESPN set up is. Crawford has at minimum 3 fights before we can entertain the fight.

Interesting though. Lou basically just admitted that there's some private money tied up in that Top Rank - ESPN deal. Wish we got some public info on that.

Haymon can’t make his own fighters fight each other he much less is going to make Spencer vs Grawford.

Arum is 103 years old & has been promoting since the prohibition. Why try and think long term on borrowed time? Just make the fights fans want to see. With that being said, Spence vs Crawford should happen after Crawford takes horns belt & beats 1 more reputable welterweight & after Spence takes Thurmans belts.

He has an investor. ESPN is providing marketing and that “360” content, but not much in the way of financing.

I know. I'm just curious about that "investor". Might've grabbed some Saudi money lol

Arum is going to milk the Horn, Crawford Pacquiao triangle as much as he can. Once all the money is squeezed out then if Bud is the last man standing we might see Crawford vs Spence.
