Like Spence, Porter prefers to fight Keith Thurman. Porter lost a close unanimous decision to Thurman in an entertaining welterweight title fight in June 2016 at Barclays Center and wants a rematch as soon as possible. The former IBF welterweight champion is the mandatory challenger for Thurman's WBC 147-pound championship, thus he'll eventually get his second shot at the unbeaten WBA/WBC champ unless someone knocks off Thurman before Porter gets the chance.

Spence will not get credit if it's Bud first fight at 147. People will say that he is a 140 pounder.
Bud is lined up to fight Horn who is bigger than Spence at 147. And Bud is the best fighter in the world. Why wouldn't Spence get credit lmao...!!!???

And I don't care if Spence is a bit bigger than Bud. Bud started at 135. No WW will be making Bud look small as Bud was big for 140. And if Bud is at 147, the size excuses go out of the window. No credit? Foh, lmao.

Doesn't take much for a fighter to get ranked by a different organization, it's quite simple .. I think Porter saw too much of Spence last night and decided he didn't want to fight him...with Porter's style Spence would beat him worse than he beat Peterson last night.... I wonder if it was true what I heard that Thurmond is taking a European Vacation... just a joke guys..

Would like to see Porter vs Garcia first, then test Crawford to see if he really belongs in the division with a uniHorn title.

Unfortunately we're about to see a whole lot of that going on over the next year.

Side note: it's funny how people forgot that no one wanted to give Floyd a shot. Gatti was all heart.

The only guy dumb (or brave) enough at 147 to take the fight with Spence is Amir Khan.

No one knows how he'll do at 147, and Horn isn't good at all. Still at least it's somewhat a gauge. Spence has a valid point, get a fight in and see how it goes. Plus let's be real... you think Arum is going to let Crawford fight Spence? Very unlikely.
