I knew Spence would break him down but I thought it would take quite a few rounds. The fight was over in the second round. He hurt him early in the round and Lamont took a little stutter step then he hurt for real a little later. Peterson fought back like I thought he would but he never had a chance. I saw a little meanness in Spence when Lamont got a good shot off and he went after him... Also, that little smile he had when Lamont started to have a little success tells me he's cold blooded. It's like he was amused that Peterson was gaining confidence. Spence is a special fighter and can go far if he stays focused.

Some of successful tactics Lamont employed I noticed : You touch Spence to the body and his D starts to crumble ; Lamont changing levels on him, making E.Spence weary of that body attack, feints low but comes up anticipating that upper from Spence then when Errol misses Lamont fires a body shot : notice how that breaks the concentration ; then Peterson stays with the momentum and catches Errols return jab and counters with his own and times Spence's with the straight right as Errol attempts another jab of his own ( Spence is dedicated to the jab before anything ). Science.
Like Paulie Malignaggi noticed Lamont's catch-and-shoot : Lamont goes up and down to find a hole, Spence knew Lamont had to work the body so you can tell he was paying too much attention to that and left him open upstairs.

I have so much more respect for Lamont. He is does not give up. I am so glad Barry stopped the fight. He really loves Lamont. They make a great team. I appreciate all the work Lamont does for his community a good dude. He just ran into a beast sat. No shame in that stop.Comment
