Comments Thread For: Errol Spence vs. Lamont Peterson: Stats & Stakes

Big time boxing is back on US airwaves in the US. We were supposed to have two title bouts on Showtime Saturday night (9 PM EST/6 PM PST). Only three of the combatants showed up to be champions. After having lost a 130 lb. title in June 2016, and easily clearing the 135 lb. limit at lightweight in four fights since (including a fight in September), Javier Fortuna somehow showed up on the scale almost two pounds over the limit. He could only shed a half-pound more on another try so his title shot is no more.

I love the new format! Especially the notable fights section. Saves time jumping to boxing rec to check out records and past performances.

Like the iteration. Shows the team on this site is paying attention to comments. Much respect

While I expect Spence to win mainly due to the fact that he hits harder than Lamont, I think Peterson at +1200 is too high. I've seen alot stranger things happen in this sport...

I smell a controversial decision going to ESJ. Just like against Garcia. Too much is at stake, PBC needs Spence to win so they can match him against Thurman, or Crawford.
We seen this act play out so many times in boxing.

The only decision is going to be whether to count PEDerson out or call the doctor immediately
