Ali-Holmes and The Trail of Blood, Part 1

“The title is too hard to get. I’m not goin’ to give it up without thinking. I’m going to sit down for six or eight months and think about it. Then I’ll decide whether to fight again. I would never want to go out a loser…” Muhammad Ali after defeating Leon Spinks September 15, 1978 [details]

Tate would have hurt Ali bad at that time, good thing it fell threw. I think Ali would have done ok with Weaver, at the worst lost a close decision

Very informative read; and I suspect some surprises are to come.

Personally, I think Ali could have beaten Tate and Weaver, even at 38.

Strange that Holmes would eventually beat the man who mentored him and taught him so much when he was an amateur. Kind of sad, but that's just the nature of the sport.

It was one of the worst feelings Ive had watching a fighter get beat , Ali was a shadow of himself .
