Comments Thread For: Roach: I'd Love to See Spence-Crawford, They're the Two Best P4P

NEW YORK The welterweight Freddie Roach really wants to see Terence Crawford fight isn't Manny Pacquiao. Roach considers Crawford and Errol Spence Jr. the two best boxers in the sport, pound-for-pound. That's the welterweight fight that truly interests Pacquiao's trainer, who told BoxingScene.com this week that Crawford is "too big" and "too young" to fight the 39-year-old Filipino legend at this point.

Wise words from Roach here. I will add that Crawford's amateur career wasn't all that great, but he did win a few solid dust ups domestically. (Went 1-1 w/ Danny Garcia at Lightweight or 60kg).

Spence had a pretty good amateur career with like a lot of domestic titles and the Olympic appearance to match fighting in the Welterweight class (69kg). Most of his Ls came on the international circuit.

Crawford's trainer should get more love btw.

Agree with Crawford as number 1 but not sure about Spence being 1a or number 2 yet. His win over Brook was great but I would like to a couple more wins.

I don't feel like Spence has been as dominant as Crawford. I really need to see how he does with a boxer puncher like Thurman. And also need to see if Crawford brings this power up 2 147

Amateurs are exactly that. Amateurs! It's what a fighter does as a pro that's matters!

****ing lol, Spence win over Brook just put him outside the Top 10. Then without having a fight in 8 months hes made his way up to #2 P4P. Cant make it up. I like him and his wanting to fight anyone is great, but this is getting a bit carried away.
