This is actually a much more dangerous fight than people think. I realize why Loma needs a permission slip.

Manny clearly beat Horn. Before that he dominated Vargas and Bradley, including dropping Bradley who has a good chin.

I get Manny has slowed up but other than Mayweather and a Memo-roided up Marquez - Manny hasn't lost a fight in a long time - first Bradley fight was clearly robbery.

Bro if his team is to be believed, he isn't dropping **** to make 135 let alone 140. They are saying he has to eat extra meals just to get to 143 or 144. Roach said he walks around at 138 or something crazy. It sounds like he could make 135 tomorrow with ease, let alone after a camp. Of course, that sounds like bull****, but they have all been saying that for years. He did weigh in many times at like 144 for welterweight bouts and that was after bulking up to make 147, but he still couldn't get all the way up there. So it sounds accurate. I can't see Pacquiao being anything but way better, relative to his opponents, at 135 or 140, because they are closer to his size. Beltran is on record bigger than Pacquiao, and he fights at 135.

loma cant hurt pac.. he might maybe beat manny on points if pac is completely shot. other than that a few straight left will set loma straight.

i rather have pac fight crawford.. but knowing arum, this fight will happen, unless manny retires before arum gets the chance to put it together. pac is a warrior, live by the knife die by the knife. #sabong

Very dangerous. I feel Pacquiao has been very underrated the last few years because he's fighting men way bigger than him. That's why I dont understand why he didnt drop down to 135 or 140 ages ago. If he looked more dominant like I think he would have, and got way more knockouts which he definitely would have, then fan interest would still be much higher, and he would sell way more PPVs. It's like Top Rank got so obsessed with the outdated idea of 147 being the money division that they sacrificed what REALLY brings in the money, which is a spectacular superstar. But how can Manny be a spectacular superstar at almost 40 years old fighting men who outweigh him by 15 pounds in the ring and can take all his punches? He couldn't even knock out Brandon Rios at 147 who is a punching bag, which means that either Pacquiao can't punch for **** (we know that's not true), or that he is fighting in the wrong division. And Rios isn't even one of the biggest welterweights.

If they had just moved him down to 135 years ago, after the Floyd fight, he could have started getting knockouts again, the media could have started reporting that "the old Pacquiao is back, it turns out he was just in the wrong division this whole time," his fights would have been amazing shows to watch again, and fans would have gotten interested in his career again.

Pacquiao, and all boxers, are most interesting when they are at the top of the sport, competing for P4P greatness. Pacquiao is too small at this age to be a P4P talent at 147. But if they had moved him down to 135 years ago, he could still have been even with the aging. It's aging AND fighting in the wrong division that have been piled on for Pacquiao and made it impossible for him. Aging can't be avoided, but fighting in the wrong division can be. So why didn't they fix it? It just makes no sense. If he walks around at 138, why did he stay at 147 as he neared 40 years old? Just completely insane. So yeah, we have no way of knowing for sure since they STILL haven't moved him down like they should have, but I agree with you, all we have to do is use our brains to figure out that he would probably still be a monster at 135, possibly even 140. I mean, not when guys like Crawford are draining down to 140 from 160, which again, is why Pacquiao should really be looking at 135, not 140, but 135? For sure, Pacquiao would probably be the #1 guy at 135 right now by a mile, could have been a unified champion there by now if he moved down when he should have, and he could have dominated everyone there so much that he would even be viewed in the top 5 P4P right now, and be viewed as still extremely relevant in boxing, instead of people saying he's done and should retire.

THAT is how much damage staying at 147 this long has done to his career. I just don't understand it. Where is the logic??? I understand they had to stay there for years waiting on the Floyd fight, but once that happened, it should have been straight back to 135. Or at least once it became clear no rematch would happen, right back to 135. And yet they are still talking 147 or 140. Makes no damn sense and it's really annoying because I am a fan of Pacquiao. They've totally wasted the twilight of his career having him fight way bigger guys for less money than he would make looking spectacular at 135. Pacquiao is the brand (when he is spectacular Pacquiao with power against guys his own size), not the 147 division. Makes no sense at all.

^^^ all the big money fights were at 147..

i think 140 would have been better for manny too but money wise there's not that many big names to generate that type of money that they were looking for. plus they were chasing for a fight with floyd.

at this point at 140, i dont think manny will be as good as he would be years ago. but i still think he can beat loma at 140.
