In the pre-fight festivities to build up their match, WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker has been highly critical of Anthony Joshua's ability to take a punch. Joshua will stake his IBF, IBO, WBA world titles against Parker on March 31, at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.

guess thats what prices careers been reduced to, a claim to fame of hurting someone in sparring. At least that one was behind closed doors, the whole worlds gonna be watching you flat on your back in your next fight.

Anyone who reads into that knock down in sparring needs their head examined.

Gotta agree with you on that!
I hope Joshua knocks Parker the **** out! I hate when boxers bring up another boxer's past, especially when that fighter was very young or an amateur like Joshua.
It's called growing pains... You live and learn. Maybe he was off balance, maybe he hadn't learned defense yet. You never know.
But I'm willing to bet Joshua isn't the same fighter he was back in 2011.

I've seen Joshua getting clubbed around and put down in the amateurs but he looked like a boy back then and green as hell.
He's the Kingpin now and that's what counts.

"I don't knock many people out in sparring, with those big gloves. When I did that to him, I wondered: is he fragile?"

"There was no shame in it. I've done that to a lot of people. It happens"

                which is it pin head?

This is the part the other posters are missing. These quotes seem like he was given a green light to disclose. Throw the story around a bit and they can justify that fight in the future.

His contradictory words illustrate his attempt to disclose but appear supportive. I wouldn't be surprised if Hearn put him up to it. Why not get his name back in the mix? He's getting KO'd either way.

Joshua was in no shape to spar that day

Have it on very good authority that the spar was the day after Joshua got nicked for weed. He’d spent all night or part of the night in cells, he then drove straight up to Sheffield and sparred Price. Hardly surprising he didn’t put up a good account of himself, his head was probably in bits. Course, this can happen when heavyweights spar anyway, just like when Josh nearly knocked Fury out of the ring in sparring, all adds to the intrigue, eh?
