How big of an upset was Khan-Prescott?

Even with the talk of how fragile Khan's chin is, I doubt anyone expected him to get KOed in the first round.

How big of an upset was the fight?

Amir Khan has been installed as 1/16 favourite by William Hill to beat undefeated opponent Breidis Prescott, who is quoted at 7/1 with the draw a 33/1 shot.

Khan is 1/8 to knock his big hitting rival out, and 10/1 to be knocked out himself. Khan is 6/1 to win in round one, and 8/1 to win on points, with Prescott 33/1 to do likewise and 80/1to in in the first.

It was a big shock here in the UK. There was a lot of hype around Khan, he was a very exciting talent and there was a lot of positive feeling after he became the youngest medalist at an olympics when he won silver at just 17 yrs old, though there was also a little disappointment that he turned pro so early.

In retrospect he shouldn't have been matched against Breidis, he was still very green despite his talent.

was a huge shock over here. the only fight that i think has since trumped it in shock value in the uk was thompson beating price.

Big shock. There were rumours that he was chinny and he did get rocked in the amateurs but it was still a shock.

he had already been dropped 3 times against light punchers. no need for the rumors.
