Comments Thread For: Pacquiao Says He is Targeting a Lomachenko Showdown

Says he is willing to do a 3 month camp. Better than being in a **** undercard and a better fight itself than Crawford

"There are negotiations now about the number one pound-for-pound (boxer) which is Lomachenko," Pacquiao said in an interview on ABS-CBN television.
"There are still talks on the weight, reducing the weight," said Pacquiao, who has been fighting as a welterweight.

If Pacquiao gets beaten by Loma there is no doubt he is going to retire. I don't want to see Crawford-Pacquiao since Pacquiao is once more having to fight someone so much bigger and younger than he is, but at least in Lomachenko he gets to fight someone his own size.

Pac is bigger then Loma. Can Pac get down to 135 even anymore?Pac keeps saying he can make 140(and he prob could) but they never do.Loma has no prob makin 130 right now Pac and Craw are closer in weight. But id rather see him take a vargas type fight and retire but we know he aint got the money for that.So he might as well play along with one of boxing's oldest traditions and get fed to Crawford and make him a new star. And get paid well for it.

Makes sense. It’s a passing of the torch type fight

In the same way as Chavez-Oscar, Oscar-Floyd

Biggest name of the past vs emerging big name.

140 seems like the right weight for this one, should be very exciting as loma’s Chin will be severely tested.

This would catapult Loma even higher.

Definitely the passing of the torch.

With GRJ, Walters, Rigo and Pac, the resume is getting stacked.

Dam, Uncle Bob milking the hell out of the Pacman with this.
I'd rather see Pac vs Bud or just retire and let Loma do his thing at 130.

It will be wherever manny wants it. He is still the A-side

I don’t see why he would want to go all the way down to 135-137

A list of names like that is what makes you a star.

                    Floyd
                    Manny
                    Oscar

All compiled a lot of names in short order to propel them to true superstardom
