    Going to Live Boxing Show?

I've never been to a live boxing show before and it has always been something I have wanted to experience. How does watching fighters live in person compare to watching on television? Do you need good seats in order to enjoy a boxing show? Ike Quartey and Vernon Forest will be fighting at Madison Square Garden on August 5th and tickets are priced at $255, $155, $105, $55 and $35. Are the seats going for $35 or $55 worth it and will I enjoy the fights with these seats? I appreciate any tips on how to get the best seats for the price I can afford. Is it best to buy early or wait until showtime is near? Thanks.

I went to the cotto fight this past weekend. being it was my first time, I had the lowest part of the top section. I think that in order for me to enjoy the fight more it is best to sit in the lower levels. Only because from where I was sitting, most of the time is was better for me to see it in the screen. But it was nice to see it live. Hope that helps

Seeing pro boxing live is a whole different world than watching it on TV.I have friends who don't really like boxing, but love to see it live.As for the seat prices,im certainly no expert. But I almost always get the fifty dollar seats, and they suit me fine. But of course it depends on the arena.

I prefer the live events even if its not one of my favorite fighters. I think good match making makes for better live events. Guys dont have to be top elite fighters to be entertaining but even good B level fighters well matched can give us an exciting fight i.e. Gatti vs Ward.

I also dont like ring side seats, I prefer the first rising tear but depends on venue. But they mostly give the best total unimpaired view while still being very close to the action. Tickets are usually $150 bucks which is pretty cheap also.

And like someone else said its a different world when you watch it live. The excitement the crowd noise etc....it easy to get caught up in the excitment and cheer yourself horse.

My first fight tickets were 48.50 in the upper deck at Conseco and I mainly watched the TV screen because the boxers were so small... I've bought floor seats ever since to big events, with the exception of this weekend's fight where I'll be two rows off of the floor

Depends on if you are more interested in "soaking up the atmosphere", really studying the fight as it happens, or have financial considerations.

Quartey vs. Forrest on the 5th huh? Sounds like an HBO fight that's not advertised yet. HBO and Showtime both have fights that night. That's happened a few times as of late. We'll probably have a fall month where there's like one big event during the whole thing

whens the next madison square garden fight, and who is in the main event??

And my gramps went to a Jack Dempsey fight (i think it was dempsey, it could have possibly been max baer... unfortuenly, its to late to ask him again) but he told me stories about his fights and going to fights. and he sat at what he said was at LEAST 100-150 yards away fromt he action, in a large, one floor arena. He said the fighters looked like thumbtacks. But he STILL enjoyed the fight a hell of a lot.

So it seems to me like seeing a fight live is awsome from any view or distance!
