Because punches dont normally break jaws, not when there are gloves on and mouth pieces in. Barrera hit Ward in the face with the right hand, did it break Ward's jaw? Barrera has like 20 fights, how many jaws has he broken in all those fights, mostly fighting much worse competition than Joe Smith? Probably just 1, maybe 2 or 2. He hit Valera all night, did it break Valera's jaw? Barrera absolutely bludgeoned Shabbransky for 7 or 8 rounds, did Shabbransky's jaw break?
This is why I'd be up to see Barrera vs Joe Smith again if Smith comes back and Barrera loses to Bivol. I think that fight was a dud because Smith broke his jaw early and had to cover up the rest of the fight to protect himself from the excruciating pain of getting hit in it. Similar to Matthysse vs Garcia after he got laced/taped/elbowed in the eye (it's hard to see which got him, just that it wasn't a punch). When you're in that much pain, you go from being a pressure power puncher, like normal, to just covering up. It totally changes the fighter and that's why both those fights were duds and stopped being competitive immediately after the injuries happened. Both would be, or would have been in Matthysse's prime, much better, more competitive fights in rematches.

I see. So you can't win a discussion, so now you say I don't box, for whatever that is supposed to mean. Actually, every now and then I will go to a boxing gym in the town next to this one, just for some exercise. But no, at my age I'm not actively boxing. And so what does that have to do with anything? You lost the debate. Get over yourself and move on. Ain't the end of the world.

MisanthropicNY is just a hater
Yeah I figured as much. Thanx for the post. And like you said, he's a hater. Here's his comeback to me:
"You're all talk and no action" Which I guess means we have to throw down and whoever wins the rumble wins the argument.
Insult to Lemiuex to be fair. Joe Smith isnt even a full time boxer. He is a construction worker who boxes and it shows in his lack of fundamentals and technique.
