Is Joshua vs Wilder last great TransAltantic bout since Louis vs Schmelling?

Imo, industry should have enough resources in the post 20th century to really hype this bout, with metrics that surprise industry.

I say Haymon and Hearn should create a strategy to have one ad for this mega fight on the SuperBowl commercial with association with a brand that covers them with no conflict of interest brands, for example I don't think Haymon could do Corona on a Superbowl ad.

I think this bout, with the aura of these two machines, to create EA Sports 2019 "Undisputed" with the winner on the cover of the new game. Now is the time!

Lewis vs Tyson imo not so much hype considering past primes and both had losses. Honorable mention goes to Lewis vs Klitchko, but those two country rivalries simply isn't the same.

I can't think of no other foreign rivalry since Louis vs Schmelling. USA vs Third Reich.... USA vs UK of course doesn't have political overtones other than unite....

Schmelling may he RIP, as Louis, may he rest in peace. I think these kats would approve.

Ward-Kovalev, Russia-America. America won both times.

Nope. You have to include industry hype. Ward vs Kova had too much negativity and doubt for both sides, and LHW doesn't have enough manpower like Heavyweights.

I should've said last great Heavyweight bout, my bad.

Kovalev lives, trains and fights in America.. He's an American citizen.

Schmeling and Lewis were considered traveling champions.

Which is why they haven't had an HW king in over 20 years. The only reason they are doing well in lower divisions is because the rest of the worlds athletes are playing football (soccer).

or because Americans have been gravitating towards MMA instead (puke)

so yeah, only 3 of the top 10 ranked HW's are American (and one of them came over from kickboxing) but it's not going to stay that way. I still believe MMA is a fad, and Boxing will outlive us all.

Not to mention bigger American athletes could be playing basketball or our version of football.

But let the Brit think his country is better. They're having a rough time from what I hear

that's exactly it too, but I figured mentioning MMA would be easier.

Keep in mind that there are hundreds to thousands of kids each year in America that would be perfect for boxing, maybe even a handful of proteges that could be the best.

But we will never know because they are likely getting basketball and football scholarships instead. Hell, I'm pretty sure Wilder lettered in football and basketball and had no plans of boxing at all.
