Is Brooklyn the new boxing capital?

It used to be Las Vegas but these last couple of years all the big fights have been in Brooklyn.

I don’t know because no one generates the kind of revenue Vegas can. But the Barclays has definitely blown by Madison Square Garden.

I dont know about that. Madison Square Garden is one of the most prestigious and historically venues.

The truly mega fights will always land in Vegas, but how many of those are there? Seems there's less and less and the fights involving the top Latino fighters seem to be more and more in LA now. Vegas fights like Crawford-Horn, Garcia-Rios don't belong IMO. Vegas has gotten so expensive and there's so many good LA fights that the travelling crowd is less and less (apart from mega fights like GGG-Canelo for example).

Barclays is probably going to be the venue getting the most consistent action but the attendances haven't been great. I haven't been to a fight at the venue yet but I stay in downtown BK when I'm in NYC and one of my friends out there just got a job working for Barclays Entertainment so will most likely be checking a fight out there in the next 12 months. Seems they are trying to move in the direction of being busier and busier and getting bigger and bigger fights.

            All?

Have you been to fights at StubHub, The Forum or MSG? StubHub is a pure fight fans venue and the Forum crowd is excellent too. MSG Theater was a bit of a Boxing geek fest for Loma-Rigo. Sure, you don't get singing songs like in Britain but you get a great fight atmosphere if the venue suits the event.

Example SuperFly 2 was great and one of the better caliber of fight fans and atmospheres (especially considering it's outdoors and small) had it been in Vegas it would have been flat. The problem over here is often times it's like there's no thought process in the venues to some of the fights.

Also, surely Manchester is a more entertaining atmosphere and venue than London? Less suits, more working class, more passionate fans and better pricing?

NO they just get alot of fights cause of the backroom dealings.

Once barclays stop putting up that cash they will lose all the fights.

Nah it's still Vegas, just look at Boxrec's list for fights in Vegas compared to Brooklyn. Last year Vegas hosted 19 events while Brooklyn only did 7 events.

                  Barclay's is a nice arena.

I'm going to see if a couple of my friends are down to watch the Wilder-Ortiz fight. Never been to a HW fight.

Vegas has a lot of much smaller shows like Roy Jones promotional company with no TV and less than 500 people in attendance. I think Brooklyn had more HBO, ESPN or SHO telecasts.
