Why would a professional boxer, in his prime, wait for months to have a surgery he knew he needed? Because when he comes back everyone wants him to fight Spence. I don't understand how everyone just goes along and is like "yea, well he needed surgery, so give him time to heal" That is a bunch of bs. He knew he needed the surgery right after the Garcia fight. He CHOSE not to have that surgery for over a couple months. Now he wants Vargas, then Porter, and then probably Garcia again too, and then another mandatory. Thurman could very easily drag this out to at least 2020, hoping some miracle happens and someone else beats Spence or Spence suffers a career ending injury. I have absolutely no respect for Thurman at all. He is the exact opposite of what a real champion is.

Showtime should refuse to air any Thurman fight that is not against Spence. Haymon should refuse to set up any fight for Thurman that is not Spence.

Thurman has opted to only fight once a year. Spence intends to fight 3 times this year.

Agree 100%. I think end of the day, if Espinoza and Showtime want the fight this year, it will probably happen. The Porter mandatory business is nonsense, the unification trumps that.

Agree with this also. For the most part, the guys who fight once or twice, do it because they're comfortable that way. The guys who want to fight more, either leave, or are vocal about fighting more, as in the case with Spence.

Guys like Thurman and Garcia seem to be okay fighting once or twice...maybe because if they fight more, they won't be getting paid to take tune-ups all year.

Settle down there slugger. Thurman had surgery for injury after fighting the best available guys (which happened to not be very good) in Porter and Garcia after Ghost.

I do think Brook, Spence, and TC all beat Thurman fairly easily. The Brook fight would be competitive, but I see Brook winning that ***if he's not ruined

The fact that Thurman isn't fighting Spence in his first fight back is fine by me, but I also get the feeling Thurman doesn't want that fight. And for good reason.

Thurman is an absolute hypejob that benefited from a very weak division which just got hot with the emergence of Spence and TC.

People want to say WW is a glamour division, but they're living in the Floyd/Manny past. It's not a glamour division. It's extremely mediocre with 2 exceptional fighters in TC and Spence.

Vargas, Thurman, Garcia, Porter, and Ali are all fun fighters who are C- to B- level guys. They get flat-out embarrassed by Floyd, Manny, Spence, TC, etc.

With that being said - I am not bothered by Thurman acting like Adonis Stevenson. Why not? Because I know Thurman is NOT the goods. One can only be bothered by his antics if they think he's the goods.

Belts don't mean anything. Any knowledgeable fan knows Spence and TC are #1 and #2 at WW (maybe TC first, I don't know)

So in saying he's the "A-side" at WW is meaningless. Besides, Crawford is the A-side in WW and he's not even fought at the weight yet XD XD
