If they haven't stripped the chwmpion who hasn't fought him in years that he's been the mandatory, why should they bother stripping him of the number 1 spot. They do as they please.

I understand Alvarez camp's point. He shouldn't have to fight another eliminator, especially since the WBC hasn't made Stevenson fight the mando and keeps giving him optional.

However, Stevenson and Alvarez can't make the whole division wait and just hold the belt and the #1 spots hostage and Alvarez has taken step aside money a number of times.

The WBC should not have allowed the Stevenson/Jack fight. Make Stevenson/Alvarez fight, and then let the winner fight Jack in an optional defense after.

meanwhile Gvozdyk should be put in an eliminator with whoever #3 is and they should be the mando for the winner of Jack v Stevenson/Alvarez winner.
