Pacquiao never undisputed, cherry picked titles.

Lol that is true - I remember DLH had his sights set on the Floyd rematch, and it fell through, and for a few months there was huge speculation on who his opponent would be.
Margarito was the guy a lot of people were calling for, and Cotto was mentioned, despite Cotto recently losing to Margarito (and Oscar once saying he would never fight a PR star again cause his wife/home in PR).
Pac's name was mentioned, but nobody that it would actually happen, with Pac having just moved up to 135 (David Diaz being his first fight at 135).
When the fight was announced, it was met with both scorn, and awe/anticipation. most believed that it was a huge mismatch, and Oscar was cherry-picking a little guy. And he was scared of Margarito. Those could both very well be true, but it turned out horribly for Oscar.Comment

See above post.
Obviously it wasn't SOLELY because of Oscar - Floyd had his personality which made him a great villain; Manny had a once-in-a-lifetime style that blended speed, dexterity, and aggression.
Still, without DLH, they never would have been the PPV stars they went on to be.
I mean, it's pretty obvious - before DLH fight they couldn't crack 300k. After DLH, they consistently broke a million.
You're welcome, Oscar (from Floyd and Manny).
shane mosley was 35-0 with 32 knockouts and a million dollar smile. he was just as marketable as pacquiao.
tito trinidad is Puerto rican which means he has a built in fan base and he still wasnt a ppv star like floyd and manny.
opponents are the reason floyd and manny became stars not oscar.
floyd vs cotto is supposed to outdo floyd vs baldomir
floyd vs mosley is supposed to outdo floyd vs zab
floyd vs marquez is supposed to outdo floyd vs gatti
pac vs marquez 3 is supposed to outdo pac vs marquez 2
pac vs cotto is supposed to outdo pac vs diaz
pac vs margarito is supposed to outdo pac vs solisComment

Remember how Oscar screwed up the weigh-in?
It was so odd - he only rehydrated like 3 pounds or some shyte.
Weird considering a guy like Oscar with all the experience with weight-cutting, and all the money to afford the best food, nutritionists, doctors, etc. that he messed that up so bad.
it's like he didn't just dry himself out and lose the last 10-13 pounds of water weight the 48 hours leading up to the weigh-in; he actually went into a calorie deficit and burned off real mass (most of it muscle prolly).
very strange.Comment
