I just got done watching this welterweight by the name of Carlos Adames fight against Carlos Molina (the guy who fought Erislandy Lara to a draw most think Molina won actually.)
Man...I must say I'm impressed to be honest. He dominated Molina from bell to bell.
He looked comfortable at all times - controlled the pace and action, showed defense, offense, scored an impressive knockdown against a very slick guy who has a great chin and is very slick. He showed tremendous ring generalship and overall looked very confident.
He seems to be very big for a welterweight, close to Kell Brook level big. This is Molina he was facing who fought the top guys at 154 - Adames looked huge against him at 147. Stocky, broad shoulders, he has good decent reflexes, he's appears to be accurate with his punches, he moves his waist well has ok mobility with above average slickness. He seems to pack a decent punch as well.
Molina is a difficult guy to dominate the way he was able to do, like I said before he controlled the pace and even at times started beating Molina at "his own game" just to show dominance. It was a really good showcase for him. There is definitely talent here.
He is only 23 years old, his record is 13-0 with 11 knockouts and he is being matched pretty tough from the looks of it glancing at his resume on boxrec.
Here is the fight against Carlos Molina:
I'll even be an as*hole and throw a 15 second sparring clip of him against Terrance Crawford from three years ago where he appeared to be holding his own at age 20 before even turning pro:

He is currently ranked #6 by the WBA although keep in mind he is very green still and also very young. I also don't see him staying a welterweight too long based on his massive size.
Thoughts?
