I don't know what happened bro...I'm thinking Chavez jr. might have been one of his last guys to hold a WBC title for Bob ; I remember Toprank having legit WBC champions -- middleweight Bernard Hopkins, jr. lightweight Erik Morales, lightweight Jose Luis Castillo and light-flyweight Jorge Arce in early 2000's.Comment

Kind of hypocritical from Showtime their unwillingness to make and pay for Stevenson-Alvarez fight, but they want to go to a purse bid to fight for the Gvzdyk fight. They should be quiet and let ESPN be the network. Also, if Alvarez loses to Gvozdyk, Yvon Michel better expect not only Beterbiev's departure, but Alvarez' too. He should feel ashamed of himself for not pushing hard for that mandatory fight. Hopefully that disgraceful promoter pays for it. Canadian boxing fans are tired of him.
You don't know how a purse bid works.... networks can't bid on a fight, only promoters who are recognized by the WBC can bid on the fight. Showtime is not a promoter. They may ultimately choose the promoter who wins a fee to broadcast the fight. Bob arums top rank could win the purse bid and then be offered a generous fee by showtime to air the fight there.
A few years ago top rank had to bid for Arthur Abraham vs Gilberto Ramirez, and the LOSING bidder actually paid the winner a fee to show the fight on their card.Comment

steveson only spoke on alvarez not bringing nice money..but showtime was said to have offered alvarez nearly 150k for the fight and he turned it down and requested more options...the only reason he got more options is bc his promoter is stevensons promoter and he doesnt have a big stableComment

Haymon & GYM preferred to build Alvarez's name before going to the Stevenson fight. Showtime agreed that was a good idea. Not sure why you see a problem with it.Comment
